New Orleans, Louisiana

A Certified Financial Planner in downtown New Orleans.

Fee-only. Fiduciary. Written plans for retirement, business transitions, and generational wealth, built here in the CBD and reviewed with you in person.

The short version

A Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) is a personal-finance professional who has met the CFP Board's education, exam, experience, and ethics requirements, and who is required to act as a fiduciary when giving financial advice. deMAURIAC is a fee-only fiduciary CFP® practice based in downtown New Orleans, serving Louisiana families and business owners with written plans built for their specific situation, not for a product shelf.

Why work with us

What a fee-only CFP® in New Orleans actually changes.

Fiduciary by requirement, not by promise

As a CFP® professional, our founder is required by the CFP Board to put your interest ahead of ours in every recommendation. It is not a marketing choice; it is the standard of care we operate under.

Fee-only, no product commissions

You pay us directly. We never receive commissions, referral fees, or trailing payments from insurance carriers, custodians, or fund families.

Rooted in New Orleans

Our office is in the CBD, a short walk from the courts, the Convention Center, and downtown law firms. We understand Louisiana forced heirship, successions, and the specifics of oil-and-gas royalty ownership.

Written plans, not sales pitches

You leave every engagement with a document that says what to do this year, next year, and the year you retire. Nothing to sign later, nothing to install.

Frequently asked

Questions we hear most often.

What is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®)?
A Certified Financial Planner is a personal-finance professional who has completed an accredited education program, passed a rigorous board exam, met an experience requirement, and agreed to a fiduciary standard of care. Every CFP® is required by the CFP Board to place the client's interest above their own when providing financial advice.
Why does fee-only matter?
Fee-only advisors are compensated directly by their clients and accept no commissions, referral fees, or product-based payments. It removes the most common conflict of interest in financial services: an advisor being paid more to recommend one product over another.
Do I need a minimum net worth to work with a CFP in New Orleans?
Not with our practice. We work with individuals, families, and business owners across a wide range of asset levels, including clients earlier in their careers who are building their first written plan.
What does working with a CFP® in New Orleans look like?
It starts with a no-obligation conversation to confirm we are a good fit. From there, we build a written financial plan tailored to your goals, review it with you in person or over video, and meet regularly to adjust as your life changes.
How is a CFP® different from a financial advisor?
'Financial advisor' is a general term and is not legally protected. CFP® is a specific credential with education, exam, experience, and ethics requirements, and comes with an ongoing fiduciary obligation.
